A pretty 19th century brass tripod 2-lens magnifier
A pretty Victorian brass magnifier with screw-thread focus, mounted on three turned brass legs. 1.75 inches (4.2 cms) in diameter, about 2 inches (5 cms) maximum in height when fully extended.
The central adjustable tube has a lens at each end allows variable focus and depth of field for three dimensional objects, as opposed to fixed focus examination of flat objects such as maps and prints. Magnification unstated but estimated at 4X.
An unusual example of a table-top magnifier, in very nice, virtually unmarked, condition.
