c. 1910: Ticka miniature camera disguised as a pocket-watch
A nice example of the Ticka waistcoat pocket camera complete with its original lens cap and the optional and seldom-found clip-on viewfinder.
The nickel plating is a little dull but there are no dings or dents to the body or other signs of apparent damage. The shutter mechanism and film advance winder are both working.
The Ticka miniature camera, manufactured by Houghton's Ltd., of London, England, was introduced in 1905 and offered for sale until approximately 1914 when the first World War brought an end to its production.
The Expo Camera Company of the United States licensed Houghtons to manufacture the Ticka, a watch-style disguised camera similar to its own Expo watch camera.
Unlike the rarer Ticka, offered for sale here, the American Expo was still available into the 1930s.
