1944: WW2 intelligence report on a captured Messerschmitt 110 fighter/bomber

CIOS: Combined Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee:

Report on German Aircraft ME-110 ... Captured in France [at Corbeil-Esonnes] 3 September, 1944.

London: HMSO, September 1944. FIRST EDITION.

10" x 7.5". 12 pages of printed typewriter-face text containing a report on a captured Messerschmitt 110 G-4/R-3 night-fighter/bomber. Included are 6 pages of printed photographs of various aspects of the aircraft.

The damaged aircraft had been loaded onto railcars for shipment in Germany via the Corbeil railway station. The station was blocked by Allied bombings on the 13th August 1944.

In nice condition, as issued, in somewhat dusty original buff wrappers, faint inoffensive library stamp on front cover. Protected in an archival clear plastic sleeve.

Following the Normandy landings in 1944, combined American and British intelligence units (CIOS) working under SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied European Forces) produced a series of surveys and reports on captured German industry and armament production as allied troops advanced across occupied Europe.

Printed in small numbers for a restricted circulation, this military intelligence report, containing material unpublished elsewhere, seldom comes onto the market.
