Photograph album, 5 x 7.5 inches, 13 x 19 cms, containing 40 small photographs, captioned in white, of various scenes and characters in costume for the Harrow Pageant of 1923.
This Pageant is featured in the June 30th 1923 edition of "The Illustrated London News" under the title "A Historic Town Relives Its Past; the Harrow Pageant".

Included in the photographs in this album are two of Lady Irene Curzon, 1896-1966. Irene Curzon, 2nd Baroness Ravonsdale, was the one-time lover of Sir Oswald Mosley and later his sister-in-law.

Also included with the album is the rare 13 x 11 inch printed "Harrow Historical Pageant Site Plan" prepared by L.G. Williams, Architect, Harrow, published by the Harrow Observer, in June 1923, showing the site of the Pageant adjacent to Sheepcote Road and, on the reverse, an itinerary of the various events and displays.
Allo in all, the album and the site plan make up an unique and irreplaceable item of Harrow local history, the photographs, whilst slight, most likely unpublished elsewhere and could well repay further research.
