Collectors' items so rarely offered for sale that you'll probably never see another
UniqueOrRare.com, based in York, North Yorkshire, is run by The Clique, itself established in 1890 as publishers of information on sought-after and valuable old books and associated items. Now, over 120 years later, we offer a small and changing selection of unique or rare photographs, albums, books and other historical documents from the 1800s and early 1900s. The only items that UniqueOrRare.com list for sale are either unique or genuinely rare - items that appear for sale so infrequently that you could search for years without coming across another. We don't stock old books that are easy to find elsewhere - it's as simple as that. We also use the UKBookInfo (UKBI) 0-7 Rarity Scale on occasion to indicate the scarcity level of individual items. Each of our titles - particularly those in Section 1, Heritage Items - is therefore an opportunity to acquire an historical item of significance in its field which few other libraries, museums or collectors worldwide have on their shelves or on display. These are one-off opportunities which are unlikely to come your way again. Although items in many different non-fiction subject-areas may appear, overall there's an emphasis on items relating to British industrial, trade, social and regional history.
